Aza is an exceptional yuen method practitioner in that he brings little baggage to the table with him and therefore is clear to really help see the cause of your weaknesses. One of Aza's greatest strengths is his neutrality and his awareness of the utmost importance in maintaining this position. - Jeffrey Godfrey
When I first thought about what to write for this page, I wasn’t sure where to start. How to you describe yourself to someone you don't know? This story came to mind, so I will share it with you…
I remember my Grandpa used to tease people in a friendly way quite a bit. I was about seven, when he first started to call me Aza the Great. I thought he was teasing me, so I didn’t really like it. When Grandpa used to tease other people, he would change the things that he teased them about, but when he started calling me ‘Aza the Great’ it kind of stuck. That’s what he always called me instead of coming up with something else. I don’t think he started saying ‘Aza the Great spelled with an 8’ until later, after he realized that I didn’t mind. Then he would add, ‘Aza the Great spelled with an 8 and an R and an S and a P and a Q’ to see my smile. There was a time that I told him I didn’t like it and I think he almost stopped calling me that. But looking back now, I am very glad he continued. I think this gave me reinforcement for self-confidence from an early age.
When I am feeling stuck and unable to move forward, I turn to doing physical jobs. I have found it is much easier to continue doing the old and familiar than to move into the new and unknown. I learned at an early age that a person can be good at whatever they chose to do. I learned to do many different things well, and some of those things I am still passionate about. I continue to learn new things all the time, but those physical activities do not bring me the personal growth and deeper connection with people that I choose to experience.
All the different things I was exposed to when I was growing up - logging, mechanical work, construction and heavy equipment operation - were helping people in an outward way. I could fix their car or build a house or cut down trees, but to take away someone’s pain is helping in a different way, a way that affects a deeper part of their life. To help someone by providing insight to work through a difficult situation, or relieve their pain, requires connecting on a much deeper level, which is very fulfilling to me. The Yuen Method is not the same thing repeated and over and over, it is always changing and evolving with each person, because of his or her individuality. I never know what information will come to me from a person’s higher self, or what I will be helping them with.
Here is a quote that I like: “I am fortunate to do this work and have fun doing it. I like to share my experience by teaching what I know. When I do that, I am open to learning more from my patients. All the information comes directly from their subconscious minds, souls and higher selves; they do not consciously know about it. I tune into the information that is continuously transmitted by them. I learn from my patients how to treat their pain.” - Dr. Kam Yuen, Pain Elimination.
I chose the Yuen Method because it is fast and simple. Everything is energy, and being open to it changing and shifting is what life is all about. With the Yuen Method, I learned how to work with energy in a way that we can see and feel in our everyday lives.
