Healthy weight loss and maintaining an appropriate weight afterwards involves looking at many parts of our lives. I believe my story is the same as what many people experience. Iron will power, and depriving myself did not bring me the lasting results I desire. There is more involved than simply eating less or eating differently or exercising. Food is one factor. Exercise is another. My experience is that both of these factors are a small percent of the bigger picture of why my body carries extra weight.
The one thing I have found that determines the health of my body, including my weight, is my emotions. How I feel about myself and my life. How I feel about my body, and how I feel about my children or parents, and how I feel about my work, or the fact I still feel irritated with a friend over a conversation we had last week. All these things affect my body.
The Yuen Method and its ability to work on the energetic level can be very helpful in healthy weight loss. There are factors we are not consciously aware of that deeply affect us and our ability to do what we want to do. Often there are fundamental beliefs our culture holds that we do not realize are holding us back.
With the Yuen Method, it is possible to trace what is weakening you and eliminate it. If exercise or going to the gym is actually weakening you, it will be hard to get the results you want. At one training we went to with Dr. Yuen, he was working on the lymph system, which carries nourishment to, and wastes away from, our body cells. He called Aza to the front of the room, and through working on him discovered Aza’s lymph system was weakened by walking. It can be a surprise to find out something so simple can affect us on such a deep level.
The Yuen Method is a great support to any weight loss program you are using or would like to use. Pick a program that feels good to you and we can support you in your ability to follow it with ease.
Maybe there is something in your life you are having a hard time letting go of. It could even be something you don’t remember. This may be affecting your body’s ability to let go of extra weight, regardless of how little you eat or how much you exercise. Once this is cleared and your body is strengthened for ease of elimination, you will feel the difference.
In addition to the energetic help I have received from the Yuen Method, one of the books that made a difference for me is, When Women Stop Hating Their Bodies, by Jane R. Herschmann and Carol H. Munter. This book helped me understand why I turn to food for comfort and how to look deeper to find the feelings I was needing to be comforted from. Jane and Carol explain that much of what women deal with is our cultural training of how to handle our emotions. They show how we can take the initiative to change that programming, and learn to nurture and care for ourselves in healthy ways. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a desire to understand more about the complex issues that contribute to weight problems.
